Weekend in Potteberg
At the beginning of the month we spent a weekend in the Overberg region. We drove through on the Saturday morning and visited De Hoop Nature Reserve which is always such a treat. The De Hoop Nature Reserve have Bontebok, Eland, Zebra, Ostriches and various species of birds. It is such a relaxing and beautiful place to spend time in.
We had breakfast at their restaurant and it was such a great start to a fun weekend. Their food is delicious and the restaurant is beautiful with amazing views of the river.
We enjoyed our delicious breakfast while admiring the stunning view and felt the weeks stress continue to lift as we got into weekend mode.
After breakfast and another cup of coffee, we made our way to Potteberg Guest Farm. It was so good to be back as it has been a while since our last visit. We stayed in the beautiful guest cottage and the views are stunning.
The bedroom is so beautifully decorated. Mooi Drome means Sweet Dreams.
The kitchen is lovely with a table overlooking the stunning garden. The lounge is comfortable and also thoughtfully decorated.
We had a lovely afternoon, walking around the farm and looking for Vultures which are in the area. In the evening we relaxed in the cottage and had a lazy supper. It felt so good to be in nature, offline and away from my laptop.
Sunday morning we woke up and had some coffee and hubby went looking for the Vultures. I read loads and relaxed in the cottage. While Hubby was enjoying his personal tour by Neil, the owner, he did manage to spot some Vultures off in the distance which was a perfect way to end the weekend off.
I took this photo on Sunday morning and all I could think was how much we needed this amazing weekend. February was a really stressful work month. But so have so many months prior to that. I loved our weekend away. I cannot wait to go back.
