1 Hour a day

The other evening hubby and I went for a walk. We walked for an hour and it was a relaxing way to end off a busy but productive weekend.

We should do this more often we agreed while we made our way back.

1 Hour is 4% of your day and doesn’t sound like much does it?

Ages ago (or in reality pre-March 2020) I used to enjoy using my lunch break to go get a coffee with a colleague, walk around a stationery shop or simply read at my desk. It was only an hour but I remember feeling refreshed and ready for the afternoon afterwards. That hour broke the work routine up and I cannot believe it made up only 4% of the day because it made such a difference.

This weekend I realised the power of that hour. We felt amazing after our walk and were so glad we used the time to get outdoors.

This morning I got up early. I’m having a cup of tea while I type this and I’m listening to a bird chirping happily outside. This week is going to be a full one and I find time is just flying faster and faster. But taking an hour - it will be different times of day depending on my schedule - and taking just 4% of the 24 hours we are given each day needs to be a priority.
