One year later
So last year this time we had been in lockdown for 3 days. South Africa went into lockdown on midnight on the 27th March 2020.
A full year has gone by. Some days (at the start of lockdown) the time would fly, filled with cleaning and baking and getting around to chores that had been put off. And then the days turned to weeks and then months. I didn’t leave the house to go out for the first 8 weeks. Hubby did all our grocery shopping so we could minimize exposure. Then I’d start going with to the supermarket early in the mornings.
We still haven’t seen family. We planned a trip to see my parents and sister but my mother cancelled it after there was an increase in cases where they live. My in-laws are in a retirement village and are both high risk.
We still have take aways instead of eating out.
We worked from home - I feel extremely grateful we have been able to do this.
Priorities changed - I let go of things that were no longer bringing joy and realised I should have done this years ago https://www.antheabooysen.com/blog/5-things-i-gave-up-in-2020
I made my own home spa https://www.antheabooysen.com/blog/home-spa-pampering for days when I missed visiting the real thing!
Lockdown lessons became a topic I discussed alot.

October was a very challenging month and I had to have surgery which in a pandemic can be stressful. But I received good news and that month taught me alot https://www.antheabooysen.com/blog/what-october-taught-me
I did a tongue in cheek post on what I was looking forward to during the festive season https://www.antheabooysen.com/blog/what-im-looking-forward-to-this-festive-season and we enjoyed a relaxing Christmas and time on leave https://www.antheabooysen.com/blog/december-recap
A full year, we went through all 4 seasons. And now it is the end of March again.
What about you? How was your last year?
