My top 10 feel good movies

Winter is very much here in Cape Town and the perfect time to snuggle up with a good movie. I thought I’d share my top 10 feel good movies which I can re-watch over and over and never get tired of:

The Intern

Robert De Niro is a retired widower who spots an advert for a senior intern. Anne Hathaway is the owner of the business who is trying to do everything herself. It is a stunning movie and I enjoyed how Anne learns from Robert that is okay to ask for help but also when to do things her own way.

Sex and the City

I love Sarah Jessica Parker! SATC was such a great series so I was so excited when they made the movies. I cannot choose a favourite out of the 2 - they are both so good.

Something borrowed

Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin make a great team in this movie. Best friends since they were young, Ginnifer is secretly in love with Kate’s fiance. It is a sweet movie with a great cast.

Valentines Day

The cast is brilliant and it is the perfect Valentine’s Day movie - that can be watched all year round.

The Five Year Engagement

Emily Blunt is brilliant in this movie which stars her and Jason Segal as a couple who get engaged and then keep postponing their big day.

Blue Crush

Kate Bosworth and Michelle Rodriguez star in this surfing movie. I enjoyed the storyline and the lessons Kate learns as she prepares for her dream surfing contest - competing in the Pipeline. The waves and beach scenes are stunning and it has a cool soundtrack.

The Big Year

I cannot tell you how many time I’ve watched this movie and I adore it each time. Awesome cast - Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson. Each are doing a big year which is where birders count the number of birds they spot in a year. As a birder this is one of my favourite movies of all time.

Love Actually

The cast. The plot. The Christmas theme. I love it all! It is one of those movies that I can watch all year - not just during the festive season.

Bridesmaids

This movie never gets old. It is one of those laugh out loud films (no matter how many times you have seen it). The cast is brilliant - difficult to choose which character is my favourite.

The Devil wears Prada

Another movie with Anne Hathaway which I can re-watch and never get tired of. And the clothing is stunning too. Meryl Streep is perfect in her role.

What about you? What are your favourite movies?
