Easter 2020

This years Easter was very different to past Easters to say the least!

First one we’ve spent in Lockdown. There was no weekend getaway. There was no seeing family. No running around at the shops on the Thursday before getting last minute goodies for the weekend.

We didn’t go anywhere. Didn’t see anyone. But you know what? It was still a good weekend.

The reason we celebrate Easter was the same. Remembering this gave me some comfort this weekend. Phoning my parents and having a super long chat on Saturday wasn’t the same as visiting and having my Mom’s pickled fish but just catching up telephonically was better than nothing. We are always going to remember this Easter. It was different but the true reason for celebrating remained the same. And it will year after year.

Mark and I made the most of it. We enjoyed some chocolate that we’d been saving for the weekend. This was NOT all bought in one go - it was different shopping trips well before Lockdown :) #considerateshoppers

I tidied up my photos.

I cleaned out the cupboard in our main bathroom and re-organised the cabinet in the spare.

Ate loads of chocolate.

Had braais. 4 to be exact.

Ate more chocolate.

Watched loads of TV.

Drank litres of coffee.

Read.

Planned blog posts and drafted my book review post for Tuesday.

Drank more coffee.

Ate more chocolate.

The weekend actually flew by and we agreed it was different but still good. And we were both extremely grateful it was nothing like the awful Easter we went through nearly a decade ago when we both had horrendous food poisoning/stomach virus from hell.

Because if there is one thing I’ve learnt, at the end of an Easter weekend you should never weigh less than you did at the start.
