Today I’m linking up with Anne from In Residence http://www.anneinresidence.com/
Anne’s prompts are 5 things we are currently doing (May is making, missing, learning, loving and reading).
Currently I’m:
Making: loads of flapjacks for brunch!
And my own home spa. I did a post on it last week.
Missing: I’m really missing my parents, sister, and father and mother-in-law. I’m missing things that were considered ‘normal’ as recently as the middle of March like seeing family. Eating out at restaurants. Doing fun road trips. Going to my favourite bookshop. I’m missing my morning latte and also my afternoon cappuccino from the coffee shop around the corner from the office. I’m missing travelling and the fact that this month would have been our trip to the Drakensberg.
I always appreciated the above - I didn’t take any of it for granted. I knew I was fortunate to enjoy trying a new restaurant or seeing family. I had no idea a few months ago that these things would be put on hold for post Lockdown.
Learning: My priorities during lockdown have changed. I no longer have time for drama or people who deplete rather than add to your joy.
Oh and I taught myself nail art.
Loving: My husband and all he is doing during Lockdown - he has been an awesome Lockdown partner :) Making my tea every single morning (weekends I get tea in bed). Doing all our grocery shopping so our risk of exposure is less. Doing fun things like playing cards and games, making us braais and just been so supportive has made this time so much easier.
Reading: The Last Hunt by Deon Meyer. Deon is a South African author and I love how part of the book is set in Cape Town. Reading about places you know are always enjoyable aren’t they?
