August recap
I’m linking up with Kristin from http://www.seeyouinaporridge.com/ with a monthly recap. I haven’t done one of these in a while and now seems a good time to jump back in!
Our lockdown restrictions are more relaxed and we’ve been enjoying a few road trips on weekends.
One of the places I love is the West Coast and we drove up a few Saturdays to do a day trip. We visited Langebaan and Veldriff. We enjoyed take aways from Ginja Beanz and ate in the car.
These toasted trammezini’s were SO good.
In Velddrif we went to Bokkomlaan and saw this beautiful Pelican. He walked out the water and was totally relaxed with us standing there photographing him.
I loved seeing the wild flowers up the West Coast - a beautiful reminder that spring is around the corner. Good grief but August was COLD!
We went to Hermanus to do a few day trips as well. Enjoyed seeing the beautiful Canola fields past Stanford.
After months of missing my take away coffee, I’ve seriously made up for lost time!
On day trips to Hermanus we would park, enjoy our take aways and coffee and look out on the ocean. On Sunday we even saw a few whales in the distance.
We got super spoilt with goodies from Mark’s work - take aways and treats. We got lasagne the one evening with pudding delivered to us. Cupcakes which were delicious.
And a hamper for a stay at home movie night filled with hot chocolate, marshmallows, chocolates and popcorn.
I finally deactivated my FB account after months of debating if I should or not. The relief when I did this was amazing. It just isn’t the online place it used to be and I’m tired of being filled with dread while I log on. I wrote about my reasons a few days ago https://www.antheabooysen.com/blog/what-august-taught-me I feel like a heavy boulder has been lifted to be honest.
And I realised how badly I need a haircut and some highlights! My hair hasn’t seen either since February.
Well that was my August!
xx
