Bookworm confessions #2
A while ago I shared some Bookworm confessions and I feel like it is time for another session.
Bookworm confession no. 1
I adore Liane Moriarty and Nicola Moriarty’s books. I’m a massive fan. But I prefer Nicola’s books if I had to choose. Her books like “Those Other Women”, “The Fifth Letter” and “You Need To Know” were books I could not put down. I also thoroughly enjoyed reading “The Ex-Girlfriend” even though I guessed early on what was happening, I was still intrigued throughout each chapter.
I do have a few I’ve enjoyed by Liane Moriarty but I find her books take longer to get into at times.
Nicola’s books pull you in from the first chapter and alot happens throughout the book to keep the reader hooked. I found the way she explores female friendships in “The Fifth Letter” and the complexities between cliques in “Those Other Women” was brilliant.

Sometimes a book is super hyped up and when I read it I feel I need to automatically enjoy it……but I don’t. It isn’t easy when people are rating a book as their all time favourite and I couldn’t wait for it to end. Last year I read a book that was so raved about I felt genuinely odd for not liking it.

I love Goodreads but I took a while this month before signing up for the 2022 reading challenge. I just want to enjoy reading, not feel pressured to complete a challenge in a rush.
Bookworm confession no. 4
I have been known to buy the same book twice. Sometimes book covers change and it can lead to confusion. One time I was quite a few chapters into a book before realising why the story sounded so familiar.

This is more of a thank you than a confession. Bookshop Sales Assistants deserve medals for their patience with this bookworm over the years. I have been the person who:
Spends ages in a shop. Goes to the queue, waits to get to the front before turning around to spend some more time in the shop. I do eventually leave, I promise.
Gives a detailed list of books I’m looking for. Then eagerly awaits the sms saying the book (or books) have arrived so I can rush back.
I have also been the person to ask for a book that I forgot the title to as well as the full Author’s name. But I knew “the cover was bright yellow” and I had a vague idea of the plot. The Sales Assistant patiently listened to me rambling and knew exactly what I was talking about.
What bookworm confessions do you have? Do share!
