What I read in November

Firstly, I have to say that I would have thought that I’d read so much more this year post March. Yet another month has gone by and I’ve read two books. Both by Lucy Diamond and both passed the time.

Over you by Lucy Diamond

The plot: On a girls weekend with 2 of her best friends, Josie a married mom of twins makes a strange discovery. Surprised (but sure there is an explanation) she travels home to her husband who promptly leaves her for another woman. With her life drastically changed in less than 48 hours Josie has alot of decisions to make.

What I thought: This was not my favourite Lucy Diamond book. I found it predictable and guessed how it would end from early in the book.

My Goodreads rating: 2 stars

Hens Reunited by Lucy Diamond

The plot: Katie, Georgia and Alice have all been friends since their student days and were at each others weddings. However as the years have gone by, those marriages have ended and their friendships have fizzled out.

Katie has just been proposed to but is afraid to re-marry. Georgia has put her career first and destroyed her friendship with Alice in the process. Alice is raising her young daughter alone and has moved to the countryside to start afresh. When Georgia’s gran has a stroke she goes home and is forced to face a past she thought she’d left behind.

What I thought: This is an enjoyable read and told from all 3 characters points of view.

My Goodreads rating: 3 stars

Not the best month for reading but I love the online book club hosted by Steph https://www.lifeaccordingtosteph.com/ and Jana http://janasays.com/ called Show Us Your Books. A bookclub that doesn’t require getting dressed and putting on make up. Quite honestly as I type this, I’m wearing my jim jams and haven’t brushed my hair.
