Thoughts on journaling
I have kept journals/diaries and planners for many years and while I enjoy choosing the stationery it goes alot further than just selecting a trendy book and pretty pen.
I find keeping a journal and writing in it regulary is a calming experience. It is soothing to sit at the end of the day and jot thoughts down onto paper. To make notes of day to day occurances - some special, some mundane.
Celebrating wins. Appreciating small things.
Not everyday can be made up of uninterrupted joy and sunshine - there are obviously sad times and moments when things feel a little heavier. Letting words flow onto paper has often been very therapeutic for me.
For years I’ve found keeping track of everyday moments is a habit I enjoy. It grounds me. Even when a day has been busy I try find a few minutes to get my diary out and note down how I’m feeling. To check in with myself :)
Sometimes I’ll look ahead and focus on goals. I find it helps me to hold myself accountable if I’ve listed a goal to work towards. And sometimes it is a reflective post of what has happened and how I’m feeling.
