February 2020 recap

I loved February and felt it flew by far too quickly. It was my birthday so I celebrated with Mark in Hermanus. I had some spa pampering on the day we arrived and felt thoroughly spoilt the whole weekend.

The following weekend we celebrated with my parents and sister in Swellendam so I felt super spoilt for the first part of the month! My parents organised a stay for the 5 of us at a lovely guesthouse and we ate loads, visited the museum and had a super time. My parents and sister don’t live in Cape Town so when we see them, there is lots to catch up on.

Valentine’s Day fell on a Friday and Mark and I enjoyed some cheese and wine outside after work before a romantic dinner. I don’t want summer to end and I’m making the most of the warm weather!

A few weeks later we had some leave. We flew to Lanseria and had a great stay in Sun City, visiting Pilanesberg every day (most days twice - once in the morning and again late afternoon).

Mark bought me a new camera for my birthday and I was eager to try it out on the wildlife. I don’t think I did too badly! I admit I’ve got a great teacher :)

Mom and baby Zebra. We sat in our car just taking pictures and this one was my favourite moment with the zebras.

A tender moment between two elephants. One of my favourite pictures from the trip. Evokes such emotion!

Mark has wanted to get a photo of a Hippo yawning for years and I managed to get this one.

Wild Dogs!! These are so rare in Pilanesberg National Park and we saw 3!! It was truly a moment to treasure as we had never before seen any. I will treasure this moment forever!

A pride of 7 Lions surrounded our car on the last morning. This was a breathtaking experience to say the least. Notice the hot air balloon in the top right hand corner.

We visited Valley of the Waves which is always fun.

Had brunch every morning at the Gary Player or Lost City golf clubs.

I also visited the Gatsby Spa at the Gary Player Country Club and had highlights and a trim.

We flew back and before we knew it, March had arrived.
