5 Things on Friday volume 5

Happy Friday! The weekend is a few hours away and I’m looking forward to a relaxing one!

5 Things that are currently on my mind:

OLD EPISODES OF FRIENDS

I cannot imagine how many times I’ve watched Friends but it is one of those shows you can just keep enjoying. In between all the series we are watching I love to re-watch an old episode every so often.

INSOMNIA

Is seriously getting old. I have this new sleep pattern of taking ages to fall asleep, waking up in the middle of the night to stare at the ceiling and then dozing off before it is time to get up. According to hubby I toss and turn all night so his sleep is also disrupted. I have cut down on coffee, I drink rooibos tea before bed, stay off my phone late at night etc. Nothing is helping. I have alot on my mind and this year we made some big decisions but I don’t know what is causing this awful insomnia to linger so long.

AMAZING WEATHER IN MAY

We are technically in winter but we’ve had some stunning days - warm and filled with sunshine. I know it won’t last and that winter will arrive at some point but I’m enjoying it while I can.

DOROTHY KOOMSOn’s books

I’ve been reading her books for ages and was excited to get a new one recently. It is called “The Friend” and is such a good thriller. I love how Dorothy builds up the suspense and keeps it there with her brilliant style of writing. I cannot put this down and am hoping to get lots of reading time in this weekend.

FRIDAY DINNERS

Hubby and I have had lots of fun experimenting with new dinners in the week. Our new kitchen has an island we can sit at in between cooking. I love pulling up a bar stool and enjoying a cup of tea while we get dinner started.

But we’ve noticed on Fridays we seem to gravitate towards pizza and an easy start to the weekend. We did the grocery shopping yesterday so everything is ready for the oven tonight. And dessert is chilling in the fridge :)
