5 Things on Friday volume 11
Hello Friday! This week was a busy one and the first 5 day week in a while. To say I’m happy the weekend is here is an understatement.
5 things that happened / are on my mind / I’d like to mention include:
NEW work out gear
I bought these at Woolworths and the bra and top are SO comfortable. Also I’m loving the pretty pastels.
january means new stationery
When I was growing up, January signalled the new school year and new stationery was something I looked forward to.
I still enjoy new stationery and without the homework and exams it felt like an extra fun purchase.
WORKING THROUGH THE FESTIVE SEASON
I worked through the festive season (again) but it wasn’t as busy as I thought it would be. Plus we ended early on 2 of the Fridays so that was a win.
The positives of working through included keeping valuable leave days, saving money, short work weeks and long weekends (which made a couple of weekends feel like a mini-break).
SUMMER
Last week we had some really hot days! But thankfully the weather has been cooler this week. I love summer but not that overwhelming heat you get on windless days. Even on our early morning walks, the heat last week was tiring.
lunchtime yoga
This year I’m determined to take my lunch hour and use it on something that isn’t work related. Something for me and I’ve found when I do this, I feel better when I return to my desk at 14h00.
Yesterday I felt tired and a little achy from the previous days workout. So I took out my yoga mat and spend 30 minutes doing a yoga routine that left me feeling relaxed but ready for the afternoon. I’m so glad I listened to my body. Instead of spending the lunchtime catching up on e-mails, I did something for myself and felt so much better for it.
