Slow down!

This weekend went far too quickly. Alot of this month has left me feeling I’m in constant catch up mode.

I worked a bit on Saturday - managed to complete something that I couldn’t find the time during the work week for. Had hoped to work on planning some blog posts and catching up on everyone’s blogs but the day got away from me.

Sunday felt a bit rushed as we woke up later than we meant to. Went out for breakfast and did a quick shop. Came home and caught up on some housework and deep cleaned the kitchen, scullery and lounge. By the time we made supper it felt like a rushed weekend and not much to show for it.

Years ago this time of year was always busy and there didn’t feel like enough hours in the day. Then 2020 happened and I wrote about the differences to that festive season in comparison to previous years Festive Season

Since then I’ve been intentional about keeping the festive season enjoyable and unrushed. Enjoying the festivities and being mindful of this special time of year. Focusing on the present and not the presents. Saying no to what doesn’t bring joy and saying yes to calm. Yes to soaking up the small things. Decorating the tree. Baking ginger biscuits. Using our festive mugs and plates. Watching Christmas movies.

This weekend - while super productive - was a reminder I need to slow down.

Are you finding this time of year rushed or relaxed?
