New Years Eve

Today is the last day of the year. Chapter 12 of 12 is almost complete.

I know I say this every single December but this year really went extremely quickly.

It had some awesome adventures (I loved visiting Kgalagadi twice), spending time in the Overberg and West Coast.

I had a milestone birthday and turned 40. I celebrated my 40th for about a week, spent time in Langebaan, Hermanus and Swellendam

Hubby gave me a huge scare landing up in the ER in July - thank goodness he was ok. Health is precious - this year highlighted this fact for us.

We surprised my parents and sister with a visit just after they moved to their new house. Saw a hectic storm when we were in the Overberg.

Celebrated our 17th year anniversary in Clanwilliam.

Work was stressful and didn’t help my health. I comfort ate my way to the highest weight I’ve ever been and battled to find time to exercise. I know I need to address this and stop resorting to sugar and take out each time work stress gets to me.

I prioritised my peace in November and December when there is usually that frantic pattern of being expected to socialise on a flat battery.

In November I took part in NaBloPoMo and it was so much fun! 30 blog posts in 30 days - what a great project.

I loved our Christmas, which was quiet and celebrated in the comfort of our home. Hubby made us the most delicious gammon for our Christmas lunch. We listened to Christmas music while lunch cooked, sipped on champagne and had a peaceful day soaking up the festive season.

This morning hubby and I went for a long walk - our final workout for the year. We had breakfast out and then did the last minute shopping for our New Year’s Eve dinner tonight. Decided to make another gammon :)

I wish everyone a wonderful New Year’s Eve and all the best for the new year. May your 2024 be filled with happiness, good health and magical moments.

xx
